At an automotive enthusiast meet-up in Jeju, South Korea, it was finally confirmed by someone from Hyundai that the new Genesis will use the Hyundai nameplate. Kim Dong-Jin, an executive of Hyundai, stated that the Genesis will be introduced as a Hyundai. The reason being that costs are way too high to create a massive dealer network of the proposed marque. This clears any rumors that suggested that the Genesis will be the first car to use Hyundai's rumored premium nameplate.
Another tidbit we were able to dig was that the 4.6L Tau V8 would not be sold in its home market. The home-market will receive the 3.3L Lambda V6 and the 3.8L Lambda V6, which is speculated to produce 290HP. Some available features of the Genesis are adaptive headlamps, LED side repeaters, Bluetooth connectivity and Intelligent Key System.
Hyundai has not set an official date for the unveiling of the Genesis, but speculations point to a late 2007 or early 2008 debut for the domestic version.
