Hyundai Motor's compact Tucson SUV is the most exported vehicle among South Korean cars over the past five years. A total of 887,451 Tucsons were exported between 2005 and July 2009, becoming the best-selling Korean car in overseas markets, according to data compiled by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association.
The sales of the Hyundai SUV, first launched in 2004, have been driven by high demand in Eastern Europe and South America, according to the No. 1 South Korean automaker. GM Daewoo 's compact sedan Lacetti came in second with 855,635 units shipped during the cited period. Hyundai Motor's compact sedan Avante followed with 792,121 units, according to the association.
