These spy shots show the new Mercedes CLS, which should arrive late next year.
Mercedes will play it safe with the CLS replacement, giving its styling an evolutionary step forward instead of any radical changes.
As such, the CLS will retain the low-roofed four-door coupe look but will gain LED lights and technology from the latest E-class.
The heavy disguise only reveals a roofline very similar to the current model, but expect a slightly more streamlined front and rear. The banana-shaped profile will be toned down on the next car.
There will be a selection of engines ranging from six-cylinder petrol and diesel units to a 6.2-litre AMG V8. Four-wheel drive is rumoured to be on the options list.
The car is expected to make its debut at next year's Paris motor show.
