The increasing popularity of diesel powered cars in Europe has spurred Mitsubishi to bring forward the market introduction of its next-generation diesel engine. The new 2.0L diesel engine will be launched in Europe in early 2009, most likely to be offered in its new Lancer range. The new diesel engine is a key element in Mitsubishi’s efforts to lower CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions, and it’s claimed to meet the latest Euro 5 standards as well as offer class-leading performance.
