Japanese media reports that Nissan is planning to throw in more subcompact cars in the North American market as early as next year. Alongside the Versa will be the next-generation Cube and two other subcompact cars. Nikkei is reporting that one model could be priced below $10K, which will indefinitely trigger a price war here in the US.GM unveiled the Spark last year, which is roughly priced around $7300USD, in India. GM also has the three mini-car concepts ready, so they should have no problem. The Cube will compete alongside the Scion xB in the fierce subcompact market and Nissan comes at a right time as fuel prices are rising and fuel economy is being taken very seriously in purchasing a car now.
