GM is really ambitious with the new Chevrolet Malibu, and proof has emerged with their recent announcement of injecting $100 million into marketing the new mid-size sedan. This is one of GM's most important vehicles as it is contending in a group where the Japanese have dominated for the last decade.
GM is ready to fight against the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord when the Malibu goes on sale on November 1st. The Honda Accord is due for a redesign this September. One of the Malibu's strong points that both strongholds have yet too achieve is the standard 6-speed automatic transmission on the base 4-cylinder model. We expect the base Malibu to stay on par to the current Malibu's $17,215 base sticker.
