Geneva: Kia Soul Concepts (Burner/Diva/Searcher) w/VIDEO

Before Kia guns the official release of the production Soul, the automaker decided to unveil a trio of concepts that give us broader hints on the upcoming car at the Geneva Motor Show. At the 2006 North American International Autoshow, Kia took the wraps off the Soul Concept which was the first iteration of the design. The trio of concepts, named Burner, Diva, and Searcher, shrug off some of the exaggerated design elements found on the Soul Concept that will remain intact in concept form.

Headed by Kia's Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, the Soul Concepts unveiled at Geneva are trailblazers to the automaker's response to the popular Scion xB sold in the US. The Soul arrives at a time where "boxy" seems to be the new black and other automakers have responded. Nissan has confirmed the release of the coveted Cube and Honda has released the Element in 2003. Out of the Soul Concept triplets, the naked eye can tell that the Soul Burner is the sporty one of the three. The Soul Diva is targeted towards women who care greatly for their Coach handbags and Tiffany's necklaces like how men care for their automobiles. The Soul Searcher is the adventurous one of the trio with subtle, rugged touches on the exterior.

The production Soul (AM) will be unveiled officially at the Paris Motor Show this September. Sales will proceed in early 2009 across Europe, South Korea, and North America. International sales will follow later.
