Hyundai i10
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has released the long-awaited i10 with the automaker's new Kappa 1.2L engine. The engine is the result of $421 million in research and development, and $250 million in building the new plant in Sriperumbudur, India. Hyundai stated in its press conference that the Kappa engine will first make it in the i10.

H.S. Lheem, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India, stated that the Kappa-powered model will be sold alongside the Epsilon 1.1L variant. The Kappa-powered model will be available with automatic transmission. The company has sold 185,000 units of the i10 since its launch eight months before, with 75,000 being in India. The new production facility would raise Hyundai's engine production in India from 320,000 units to 570,000 units.

Lheem also stated that the i20, the replacement of the Click/Getz/TB, will debut by the end of this year.
