Kia has announced that the all-new 2011 model year Sorento CUV will be the first vehicle to be built at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) in West Point, Georgia. Production of the crossover is scheduled to commence later in 2009. KMMG is Kia's first plant in the US, and the new, unibody Sorento will be its first vehicle built in the country. In the US, it will be available in front wheel drive and all wheel drive configurations, and will be powered by either a 2.4L Theta II inline-4 or a 3.5L Lambda II V6.
